Anthony Wamsteker (BEc, SF Fin)
Chief Executive Officer

Anthony joined Quay Credit Union as CEO in 2013. He has extensive knowledge and experience across all areas of Quay’s operations, gained over 30 years working in the banking and finance industry. Previously, Anthony was the founding CEO of ME Bank, and was instrumental in obtaining a banking licence and delivering results for growth, operational efficiency and customer service. He also worked for National Mutual for many years.

Having spent most of his career in companies owned by their members, Anthony is passionate about the ideals of mutuals and is highly committed to delivering exceptional value to members as well as supporting the wider credit union community. He believes the time has come for mutually owned financial institutions to reclaim a much greater share of the banking market.

Leigh Abberton

Leigh Abberton (CA, BComm, MAMI)
Finance Manager & Company Secretary

Leigh is our Finance Manager, a qualified CA responsible for the Credit Union’s support functions: Finance, treasury, collections and human resources. Prior to joining the Credit Union in November 2007, Leigh’s professional background included 5 years working as a Chartered Accountant in a large International Chartered firm, specialising in auditing of financial institutions.

Leigh is proud of the Credit Union’s financial strength, which is supported by the continued efficiency of its operations. However most of all Leigh is proud of the Credit Union’s commitment to provide competitive rates, no ongoing fees for supportive members and to be part of a team that is delivering exceptional products and services to members.

Michelle Towers

Michelle Towers (Cert IV Financial Services)
Member Service Manager

Michelle is our Member Service Manager and is responsible for running the day to day operations of the call centre and member service team. Michelle has over 30 years experience in the finance industry including 17 years with credit unions. Her experience expands across all areas of lending, products and sales, training and frontline management.

Michelle is proud of the strong relationships her staff have built with members and believes that is our key point of difference; our commitment to long-term financial partnerships with our members.

Leah Win (CA, BComm, MAMI)
Compliance & Risk Manager

Leah is our Compliance & Risk Manager, a qualified CA responsible for the Credit Union’s Compliance and Risk functions. Prior to joining the Credit Union in April 2012, Leah’s professional background included 7 years specialising in auditing of financial institutions and working as a Chartered Accountant in a large International Chartered firm.

Leah is proud of the Credit Union’s strong and robust compliance structure, including the stringent monitoring of internal controls and detailed risk assessments, which have provided a great foundation in building a strong Credit Union with sound financials and delivering valuable products and services to members.

Troy Haack
IT & Projects Manager

Troy is our IT & Projects Manager and is responsible for the day to day IT operations and projects at the Credit Union. Troy has over 19 years experience working within the financial services industry, spending many of those years at credit unions and core banking providers. Troy has extensive knowledge across all areas of Quay’s IT department due to his significant experience.

Troy is proud to be part of the Credit Union which prides itself on implementing leading technology to deliver enhanced products and services to our members.

Sara Moloney (BComm, Diploma of Financial Planning)
Marketing Manager

Sara is our Marketing Manager, with qualifications in marketing and finance. She is responsible for all aspects relating to the marketing function at the Credit Union. Prior to joining the Credit Union in December 2012, Sara spent many years in the financial services sector. Her previous experience includes business development, local area marketing, community engagement and customer retention.

Sara believes that the Credit Union offers a unique and rewarding banking experience by providing personal attention to our members. She is proud to promote a truly member focused organisation and aims to continually provide improvements to our products and services to deliver an exceptional member experience.
